Last Thursday I was lucky enough to attend the Kiss Nails & Lashes event in Edinburgh. I’m an avid lover of fake nails, but as someone who never wears false lashes, I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to throw myself into the false lash world for the first time.
The event was held in Tigerlilly on George Street – which for those of you who aren’t from Edinburgh, is the fancy street. I’d never been to Tigerlilly before this but omg it’s one of the most Instagrammable restaurants I’ve ever been to. I mean, just look at the bar:
And the flower wall:
Throughout the evening there were lash makeovers, nail makeovers, canapés AND free cocktails. I think I managed to grab two or three cocktails (is it bad that I can’t remember exactly?) and a mini burger throughout the evening. I also managed to get a lash makeover, which meant I got to choose a pair of lashes and have them applied for me. The makeup artist made it seem SO easy and quick but I guarantee it’ll take me countless attempts and pairs of lashes to get it right.
I didn’t manage to sit down and have a nail makeover purely because it was constantly busy, but I did manage to have a good look at the packs of nails they had dotted about the place. They have so many different kinds and they’re all SO pretty. A couple of other girls I met during the evening had their nails done and they looked amazing and really well applied, unlike my usual half-arsed attempts where I usually end up covered in nail glue.
The rest of the evening was spent mingling with loads of other lovely girls and taking too many outfit photos by the bar. The whole place was decorated perfectly for a blogger/influencer event, seriously whoever decorated it NAILED it… pun intended? And the PR girls from Alex Silver were so lovely and really made us feel welcome and like we genuinely were VIPs. For my first blogger event I’d say it went really well actually and I honestly had such a good time!
